It's an " I" in happiness.

And the Y?
The Y. We talked about this.
It's an I in "happiness".
There's no Y in "happiness". It's an I.
Chris, the unemployed character in the movie, The Pursuit of Happyness, looks at the Daycare motto painted on the building after leaving his son Christopher there.
Chris Gardner, the character who was played by Will Smith, while explaining to the Chinese Daycare maintenance worker that there is an I in happyness and not Y had brought in that happiness, bliss, and delight include I, and happiness depends on oneself and there is no "Y" to be happy in your life. This movie is a must-watch film. The writer, the real Chris Gardner, indicated that happiness starts with oneself. Happiness starts with you. Not with your relationships, Not with your job, Not with your money, but with you.

He reminisced as seen in the movie how Thomas Jefferson emphasized the pursuit part.
"Then I start thinking about Thomas Jefferson...The Declaration of Independence...and the part about our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And I remember thinking: How did he know to put the "pursuit" part in there? That maybe happiness is something that we can only pursue. And maybe we can never have it... No matter what. "
Happiness is the choice, one has to choose to be happy, to be in a good mood, to be content. No matter how considerably your external environment sucks but you can still be happy if you have made up your mind. And it's all about mindset at the end. Happiness is a choice that requires effort at times.

The Pursuit of Happyness is a movie that teaches that one person's mindset and the will to win is all it needs to get what the person desires. Chris's determination and hunger to be among those people who can afford a living for themselves and their family is what made him get a job after so many hardships, from crying in toilets to cracking a joke in front of interviewers and impressing them and the audience had me believe that anyone can achieve their dreams no matter how hard it is, one's determination, a BURNING DESIRE, and faith are enough to achieve the goals.
Despite going into lockup, having paint patches all over, and being shirtless, Chris didn't step back from his decision to give the interview instead he made every effort to grab that opportunity.
"If a guy walked in for an interview...without a shirt on...and I hired him? What would you say?"
"He must've had on some nice pants." This was Chris's reply when the interviewer was in no mood to hire him.
There is a lesson that Chris Gardner taught the audience that no matter how life beats you down you gotta stand up and show up. The job Chris got here didn't promise salary and it was just like an internship. But he made his best possible effort to grab a permanent job in that company.
When Christopher, Chris's son, was playing basketball when his mom has just left him with Chris, Chris told his son that he don't want him to shoot his basketball day and night, to which Christopher innocently nodded. Being a supportive dad, he later told Christopher-
"Don't ever let somebody tell you
You can't do something
Not even me
You got a dream
You gotta protect it.
People can't do something themselves
They wanna tell you...you can't do it.
If you want something,
Go get it. Period."
The reason people love this movie is we all have seen that point in life when everyone is trying to push us down, we all have some people we try to avoid because being around them feels like it's very hard to achieve what we want, we start doubting our capabilities, we get insecure. It's very important to be surrounded by people who support you to be successful in life. The lesson is that if one has a dream it should be protected from the difficult people.
Not only Chris, but Christopher also taught us that one has to grab the opportunity before it's gone.
One day, a man was drowning in the water. And a boat came by and said, "Do you need any help?" He said, "No, thank you. God will save me." Then another boat came by. Said, " Do you need any help?" And he said, "No, thank you. God will save me."  Then he drowned, and he went to heaven. And he said, "God why didn't you save me?" And God said, "I sent you two big boats, you dummy."
God can't save you if you are not willing to save yourself.
